750 g (1 1/2 lb) finely minced steak
1 onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
freshly ground pepper
6 hamburger rolls
2 tomatoes
crisp lettuce leaves
for the barbecue sauce
1 cup tomato ketchup
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
few drops chilli sauce
method
1. Combine minced steak, onion and seasoning in a mixing bowl, mix together thoroughly.
2. Shape into 6 hamburgers, about 1 cm (1/2 inch) thick.
3. Barbecue over hot coals for 6 to 8 minutes on each side or until cooked.
4. Baste hamburgers with the barbecue sauce while cooking.
5. Split rolls, toast and butter.
6. Place hamburgers in the prepared rolls, add sliced tomato and lettuce.
7. Serve any remaining barbecue sauce with the hamburgers.

9. Combine all ingredients and mix together thoroughly.
hawaiian hamburgers
1. Lightly brown slices of canned pineapple on barbecue, place on top of hamburgers instead of tomatoes and lettuce.
2. Serve with any remaining sauce.
