method
1. Melt butter in a large saucepan and heat until it becomes light brown in colour.
2. Cool, add the sugar and beat well.
3. Add egg, orange and lemon rind, and beat again.
4. Add sifted flour and mix in well.
5. Drop in very small teaspoonfuls on to a greased baking tray, allowing room for spreading.
6. Place half a blanched almond or a piece of walnut on top of each biscuit and bake in a moderate oven 180-190°C (350-375°F) for 10 to 12 minutes.
7. Lift off with a spatula and cool on a wire rack.
