method
1. Slice bread diagonally into 2 cm (3/4 inch) slices, cutting to, but not through, the bottom crust.
2. Cream butter with parsley, garlic and salt to taste.
3. Spread butter mixture on both sides of each slice, pressing together to re-form loaf.
4. Wrap in aluminium foil.
5. Bake in a moderately hot oven 190-200°C (375-400°F) for 15 minutes.
6. Open foil and cook 5 minutes longer to crisp the bread.
7. Cut through bottom crust and serve warm.
