Make a strong infusion of China tea, adding 5 ml (1 extra tsp) tea to the given proportions. Half-fill some glasses with tea and fill to the top with hot . Add slices of lemon and sugar to taste.
This is the traditional way of making Russian tea, but some people just make a weak brew of tea and add the lemon and sugar.
Rum can be used as a flavouring instead of the lemon, if you prefer.
In Russia and the Balkan countries, jam is often served with tea.
