method
1. Drain the ham and put into a saucepan. Cover with fresh water and bring to the boil. Simmer, allowing 15 minutes per 450 g (1 lb) plus 15 minutes over.
2. Drain the ham and remove the brown skin. Score the surface of the fat and stud with cloves.
3. Put the ham in a baking tin.
4. Mix together the crushed pineapple and sugar and spread over the ham.
5. Bake in a preheated moderate oven 170°C (325°F) Gas Mark 4 for 45 minutes, basting frequently with the glaze.
6. Serve hot or cold, garnished with pineapple.
