method
1. Put the marrows in a saucepan with salt, pepper and a very little water.
2. Cook gently until the marrows are tender.
3. Drain if necessary and turn into a heated ovenproof serving dish.
4. Mix together 50 g (2 oz) of the butter, the cream and egg and fold into the marrows.
5. Add a little of the cheese and salt and pepper.
6. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top and dot with the rest of the butter.
7. Cook in a preheated hot oven 220°C (425°F) Gas Mark 7 for 5 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Can marrows be frozen
Answer. No, too high a water content, will turn to mush when defrosted.
