New England Stuffing

ingredients

enough to stuff a 3 to 4 kg (7 to 9 lb) bird
12 thick slices of bread, crusts removed, toasted
stock or water
salt
pepper
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage
1 thick slice of fat salt pork, finely chopped

method

1. Chop up the toast and moisten with a little stock or water.

2. Mix in the remaining ingredients.
