method
1. For the pastry, sift the flour into a bowl with salt and pepper.
2. Rub in the margarine, then mix in the cheese.
3. Bind to a dough with egg, milk or water.
4. Roll out the dough thinly and cut into oblongs, about 8 x 10 cm (3 x 4 inch.)
5. Divide the herrings in tomato between the oblongs, then roll up like sausage rolls.
6. Place on a greased baking sheet and brush with milk or beaten egg.
7. Bake in a preheated moderately hot oven 190°C (375°F) Gas Mark 5 for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
