method
1. Use the pastry to line a 20 cm (8-in) flan tin or dish and bake blind in a moderately hot oven (200c, 400F, gas 6) for 10 to 12 minutes.
2. Remove the skin from the smoked mackerel fillets and flake or slice the flesh into small pieces.
3. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and combine with the cottage cheese, fish and chopped tomatoes.
4. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper.
5. Put this mixture into your pre-baked flan case and bake in a moderate oven (180c, 350f, gas4) for about 25 minutes.

Very good BUT it would be helpful to say how much mackerel would be suitable for the recipe. We used two fillets but even that was a little too powerful!
