method
1. Wipe the apples and make a shallow cut through the skin round the middle of each.
2. Core the apples and stand them in an ovenproof dish. pour the water round them,
3. fill each apple with sugar and top with a small knob of butter.
4. bake in the oven at 200°C (400f) mark 6 till the apples are soft for 3/4 hour.
