method
1. Sift dry ingredients together and add milk, eggs and shortening. Mix well.
2. Pour into a greased pan and bake in a hot oven at 375°F.
3. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the top of the Johnny Cake is golden brown and the center snaps back when touched with your finger.
4. Cut into squares and serve while hot, accompanied by butter
