Honey Sauce

Honey sauce works well with vanilla ice cream and banana splits.

ingredients

makes 1/4 pint (300 ml)
1/2 stick (2 oz) 50 g butter, softened
1 1/2 level teaspoons cornflour
4 - 6 oz.(100 - 150 g) thin clear honey

method

1. Melt the butter in a small pan over low heat, without browning it; stir in the cornflour.

2. Gradually blend in the honey and bring the sauce to the boil, stirring all the time.

3. Heat for 2 - 3 minutes to cook the cornflour.

4. Serve the sauce warm with, for example, vanilla ice cream and banana splits.
