4 oz (100 g) English Cheddar cheese, grated
1 red dessert apple, chopped
25 g (1 oz) walnuts, chopped
25 g (1 oz) raisins
4 tbsp (60 ml) milk
Worcestershire sauce
salt and freshly ground pepper
2 dessert pears
lemon juice
1 tomato, sliced, to garnish
method
1. Place the cheese, apple, walnuts, raisins and milk in a bowl and mix well.
2. Season with a few drops of Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
3. Cut the pears in half and scoop out the cores. Sprinkle with a little lemon juice and pile the cheese and apple mixture on the top of each pear half.
4. Serve each pear on individual plates on a bed of lettuce and garnish with tomato slices.
