1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) Gas Mk 6.
2. Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl.
3. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
4. Stir in the sugar and sultanas.
5. Mash the bananas in a bowl then add the lemon juice.
6. Beat in the egg.
7. Pour into the flour mixture and beat well.
8. Place about ten spoonfuls of the mixture on a baking sheet, arranged to allow room for spreading.
9. Bake for 15 minutes until risen and golden brown.
10. Cool on a wire rack.
