method
1. Marinade the meat overnight in the oil with a little seasoning.
2. Saute the onions in the butter until lightly coloured and put them in a casserole, with the mushrooms, Drain the steaks and coat them with flour, fry lightly in the pan in which the onions were sauteed, adding any remaining marinading oil.
3. Put the steaks on top of the vegetables in the casserole.
4. Mix together the lager, sugar, garlic and some salt and pepper and pour over the meat.
5. Cover and cook in the oven at 150°C (300°F) mark 1 - 2 for 3 1/2 - 4 hours.
