method
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) Gas Mk 4.
2. Peel the onions and leave them whole.
3. Cut out four pieces of foil and stand an onion on each.
4. Place a knob of butter on top of each onion and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
5. Seal the onion inside the foil, place in an ovenproof dish and bake in the oven for about 1 hour or until the onions are tender. (The size of the onions will determine the cooking time.)
6. Unwrap the onions, sprinkle with parsley and serve.
