method
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) Gas Mk 6.
2. Boil the potatoes in their skins in salted water, then peel and slice.
3. Cook the cabbage for about 3 minutes in salted water. Drain well.
4. Butter an ovenproof dish and arrange the potatoes, eggs and cabbage in layers, sprinkling each layer with a little melted butter, cream and salt and pepper to taste. Finish with a layer of cabbage.
5. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs, dot with small pieces of butter and bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until the top is browned.
