1. Mix together the cheese, cornflakes and kirsch and divide into three portions. Season the first portion with the caraway seeds, the second with the ground cardamom and the last with the ground clove and aniseed.
2. Form balls out of the mixture. Put the egg in a bowl, give it a quick whisk with a fork and season with salt and pepper. Dip the balls into the beaten egg and then roll in the breadcrumbs.
3. Heat the oil in a chip pan and fry the balls until they reach a golden brown colour. Serve the cheese fricos with dips of your choice.
