Country Chicken Burgers

Tasty chicken burgers are a lighter and healthier alternative to eating hamburgers. The burgers can be cooked either under a grill or on an open barbecue, and turkey can be used instead of chicken.

ingredients

serves 4
8 oz (225 g) skinless and boneless chicken thigh meat
1 onion
4 oz (100 g) sausage meat
2 oz (50 g) fresh brown or white breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves or 1 teaspoon dried thyme

method

1. Mince the chicken by hand or in a food processor until fairly coarse. Then finely chop the onion and sausage meat.

2. Combine all of the ingredients and work together until evenly mixed, then shape the mixture into 4 burgers.

3. Cook the burgers under a preheated grill set at a medium setting for about 15 minutes, turning once, until golden on both sides.
