1. Prepare and cook the beans. Drain and mash them finely.
2. Skin and chop the onion.
3. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion until golden brown.
4. Grate the cheese.
5. Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
6. Shape the mixture into a loaf, place in a greased baking tin, and cover with buttered greaseproof paper.
7. Bake in a moderate oven at 180°C gas mark 4 for 45 minutes.
8. Serve with gravy and vegetables.
