Czech Potato Pie

ingredients

serves 4
1 lb (450 g) potatoes, peeled and grated
3 tbsp top of the milk
1/3 cup (50 g) plain flour (All purpose)
1 large clove of garlic, crushed
1 medium onion, peeled and grated
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 stick (2 oz) 50 g butter

method

1. Drain any excess liquid from the grated potatoes.

2. Mix together the milk and flour and add the grated potatoes.

3. Stir in the crushed garlic, onion and seasoning.-

4. Place in a well greased pie dish. Dot with butter and bake in the oven Gas mark 6, 400°F (200°C) for about 30 minutes until nicely browned on top.

5. Alternatively, drop spoonfuls of the mixture into hot fat and fry on both sides.

This tasted very bland, like something is missing. Maybe some cheese and more cream would make it edible. My husband left his on the plate and my daughter screwed her face up!
