American Sloppy Joes

ingredients

1 tsp oil
1 small onion, diced finely
1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
1/2 cup of ketchup
15-30 g (1-2 tbsp) prepared mustard
salt and pepper to taste

method

1. In oil sautƒÂ© onion until tender. Add beef, sautƒÂ© until brown.

2. Remove oil and reduce to a low heat. Add ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper and stir. Heat through.

3. Serve on hamburger style buns.

Forget the ketchup

Use Small can Tomato Paste instead of ketchup and add tablespoon of sugar, add some water to get the correct consistancy needed for easy sandwich spreading. Taste so much better.

Tastes so good with a pinch of cayenne pepper.
