1. Heat the oil in a large, deep frying-pan. Add the ginger and leek and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
2. Add the cabbage and stir-fry for 4 minutes, or until it is cooked through but still crisp. Sprinkle over the monosodium glutamate (MSG) if you are using it, salt, pepper, soy sauce and lemon juice and stir in the abalone. Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.
3. Transfer the mixture to a warmed serving dish and serve at once.
