This quick-cooking dish requires prime meat. Whisky liqueur will reduce to a sweet glistening glaze.
ingredients
The creamy sauce has a deliciously boozy flavour, and the dish is very quick to cook.
15 g (1/2 oz) butter
700 g (1 1/2 lb) sirloin steak, cut into strips
1 large onion, skinned and chopped
75 ml (3 tbsp) whisky liqueur such as Drambuie
75 ml (3 fl oz) fresh double cream
salt and pepper
method
1. Melt the butter in a medium frying pan. Add the beef strips and onion and cook for 5-10 minutes, until the beef is brown and cooked to taste.
2. Stir in the liqueur and cream. Heat gently to reduce slightly. Serve at once with vegetables and brown rice.
