Mustard fish wrapped and steamed in banana leaves recipe

Mustard paste: Take 200 g of mustard seeds (rai) and wash well. Grind to a paste by adding just enough water to get a paste-like consistency.

500 g (1.1 lb) Fish, rohu. cleaned
1/4 cup (50 g) 1 3/4 oz Mustard (sarson) paste
4 tsp (16 g) Salt
1 tsp (2 g) Turmeric (haldi) powder
4 tsp (20 ml) Mustard oil
4 Banana leaves

method
1. Mix together the mustard paste, salt, and turmeric powder. Apply over the fish pieces.
2. Brush 1 tsp of oil over each piece of fish and individually wrap in banana leaves.
3. Steam the wrapped fish either in an idli container or in a perforated container, put over a large utensil with boiling water (one third level). Cover the vessel and cook over low heat till the fish is done.
4. Serve hot.
