Frugal Meat Loaf

ingredients

serves 6
12 oz (350g) minced beef
8 oz (225g) beef sausagemeat
1 1/4 cup (75 g) fresh white breadcrumbs
1 level tbsp fresh, chopped mixed herbs
1 small onion, grated
1 beef bouillon cube (stock cube) crumbled
1 egg
salt and pepper

method

1. Heat the oven to 350°F (180°C) mark 4.

2. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix together very thoroughly.

3. Press firmly into a 1 lb (450g) loaf tin and pack down well.

4. Cook in the oven for 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours.

5. Drain off any fat and turn the loaf onto a warm serving dish. Serve with a sauce.
