Kanika Bhog (Green gram and rice preparation) recipe
ingredients
3/4 cup (150 g) 5 oz Rice, soaked for 1 hour, drained
2 1/2 tbsp / 50 g (1 3/4 oz) Split green gram (dhuli moong daf), soaked for 1 hour, drained
2 tbsp (30 g) 1 oz Ghee
2 Black cardamom (badi elaichi)
4 Cloves (hung)
1. tsp (4 g) Salt
3 tsp (9 g) Sugar
10 - 12 Raisins (kishmish)
2 cups (500 ml) l6 fl oz Water
2 1/2 tbsp / 50 g (1 3/4 oz) Split green gram (dhuli moong daf), soaked for 1 hour, drained

method
1. Heat the ghee in a pressure pan; add black cardamom and cloves; saute for a while.
2. Add the remaining ingredients; mix well. Close the pan and cook till 2 whistles. Remove the pan from the heat.
3. After 2 - 3 minutes release the pressure; mix gently and serve hot.
