500 g (1.1 lb) Fish, rohu, mashed
2 Bread slices
2 tsp (4 g) Cumin (Jeera) seeds
1 tsp (6 g) Black peppercorns (sabut kali mirch), ground
2 Onions, large, finely chopped
4 - 5 Green chillies, finely chopped
2 tbsp (6 g) Dry fenugreek leaves (kasoori methi)
1 Egg, beaten
Salt to taste
1 cup (120 g) 4 oz Breadcrumbs
Vegetable oil for frying

method
1. Boil the fish in very little water. Debone the flesh.
2. Soak the bread in water and squeeze dry.
3. Add all the ingredients (except breadcrumbs and oil) to the mashed fish and mix well.
4. Shape into desired size cutlets. Dip the cutlets in egg, then coat well with breadcrumbs and shallow fry. Serve hot.
