Stir-Fried Spiced Onions (Piaz Bhaji) recipe

ingredients

1 tsp cumin seeds
50 ml oil or ghee
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp grated root ginger
1 kg thickly sliced onion
1 tsp garam masala
salt

method

1. Lightly fry 1 tsp cumin seeds in 50 ml oil or ghee and add 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp grated root ginger and 1 kg thickly sliced onion.

2. Fry for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with 1 tsp garam masala, season with salt, cover with a lid and cook for a further 10 minutes;

3. serve in a vegetable dish.
