Temperatures

gas mark equivalents

The below chart represents the approximate equivalents needed to convert recipes between gas mark and electric oven temperatures. For fan assisted ovens, you may need to reduce the temperature by between 20 - 40 degrees Celsius. Fan-assisted ovens are usually set 25°Celsius below, and the cooking time reduced by 10 minutes for every hour of cooking time.

Remember these values may vary slightly, taking into account other variables; size of oven, altitude, temperature, humidity, etc. One good rule of thumb to remember is that the value for degrees Celsius is roughly half that of degrees Fahrenheit.

Gas mark Temperature (°F) Temperature (°C) Description
