Janet

Jon
Superb soup, right texture, right ingredients - thanks for the recipe!
Drew
The texture is perfect, the taste is perfect.. jus the presentation can be improved.

Tried adding prawns. made it even tastier!

Country Vegetable Soup

A hearty soup, full of natural goodness and flavour.
Nicola Allington
I have just made this soup with my children (aged 5&6yrs). Whilst it was absolutely beautiful the quantities were not correct. I followed the recipe accurately but the above quantities only provided 4 small portions of soup (for lunch). I will definately do the soup again but will double up on the quantities.
Keith the Cook
Must agree with Nicola, only 2lbs of vegetables between 6 people ? not enough at all .... try taking out the artichokes and use something like Broccoli too.
Rich
As a novice cook I made this soup and it tasted absolutely fantastic. I agree with the comments - double up on the quantaties and there'll be enough for 6 people as a starter.
Christina
I took advice from the other reviews, added more stock and didn't mash the veg. Absolutely delicious and a hit with everyone. Thanks

Broccoli and Cheddar Cheese Soup

Vic hudson
Wow it tastes good even without the cheese but when you add it, it becomes divine!
Juedrop
Can anyone tell me if this soup can be frozen?
Paula S-O-T, UK
I found this soup, really easy to make. In my opinion it doesnt look very appetising, and I didnt particularly like the smell, but the taste was out of this world!!!

I will definetley be making this soup again and again and again!!
Paula S-O-T UK
In reply to Juedrops questions :Can this soup be frozen?

I dont see why this soup couldnt be frozen, but I never got round to it, it was so nice it was all gone within 2 days.

Im making another batch today!

Carrot and Coriander Soup

A Cox
This soup was so easy to make and tasted great.
Ann Bowden
Easy to make and quite delicious.
Alan Bagshaw
I simmered for 45 minutes as apposed to 25 minutes

Rather than adding ground coriander I liquidized the fresh coriander instead.

After liquidizing, I added the seasoning and kept its heat and served hot-delicious
Vera from N Wales

When you put the flour in there's lumps in the soup, how do you go about solving this?

Courgette and Cumin Soup

Sara WARD
I tried this soup in a local farm shop and it was delicious. I found this recipe and thought I would give it a go. It was easy to make and actually tasted like the cafe version. If not better!!!
Anne Taylor
This has got to be my favourite soup of all time. We found this receipe in the Dairy Diary quite a few years ago now and have been making it ever since! You must try this!
Steve Barley
I found this recipe (without the garlic I think in the fabulous TeaPot Trail series of recipe books (UK).
Instead of thinly sliced courgettes as garnish - visually coherent, but tasteless - I prefer a paper thin slice of lemon "butterflied" on each serving with a tiny sprig of fresh mint. These two garnishes when swirled into the soup add a perkiness which complements the creaminess of the courgettes and milk and offset the smokiness of the cumin. Worth trying!

Mixed Pepper Soup

Helen
I absolutely love this soup! : D If you can't get hold of fresh ginger, or just don't want to, I found you can substitute it with 1/2 to 1tsp of ground ginger depending on how gigngery you like it!
Pepper babe
You can also add a tin of tomatoes to the stock before blending its so very healthy too yum yum yum
Helen C
This was really eaay and quick to make. I grilled the peppers before adding them to the pan - adds extra flavour, and you don't have to cook them in the stock as long. Have also added some cayenne for zing - and I bet adding some chopped coriander would be an excellent addition too!

Chicken Noodle Soup

Amy McCall
I loveee this tasty soup - it gave a whole new meaning to chicken noodle soup
Russ Bowman
This is the first time I have made soup and don't normally eat noodles but this was great.

made with chicken flavour noodles and chilli powder becuase i didn't have any curry powder but was still great.

Very tasty
Jai millar
This is the second time i made it and it is getting better and better
all my family love it

Beef Broth

Sparky
Where's the beef?

It's in the brown stock
Lola
Surely if you are using "general household stock" (????) and then just adding vegies etc, then this is not a recipe for beef stock...it's an enhanced general household stock..surely?
Rocket ron
Ask your butcher to keep you 2 flat ribs off the 4 quarter, cut them in half, boil them to make your stock plus the meat will fall off the bone ,hence the beef for the broth

Leek and Potato Soup

Mushroom and Sherry Soup

Mushroom and Sherry Soup
L. HARPER
This is a really good soup - the sherry added towards the end of cooking really does bring together all the flavours. Will definitely make this again and again. It went down well!
J V Hughes
Loved this recipe. Excellent for a dinner party. Went down well with all our guests. So will definitely make it again.
C. Gilbert
Loved this soup!!! Really tasty, garlic works really well in it. This recipe also works great with brandy instead of the sherry. My 2 year old adored it - and it was good to make with her as it was her job to chop some of the mushrooms! I also tried it with the bigger mushrooms (that are cheaper) and also worked just as well.

Chicken and Tomato Soup

Chicken and Tomato Soup
Mark
This was absolutly disgusting, the chicken stock and tomatoes seriously didn't mix well and gave it a fatty taste - not for me.

Dani

Add a little mustard as this will enhance the flavour. And instead of using milk, try water or vegetable stock; it's not as sickly.

Chicken Consomme

Stephen Thomley
It will be a disaster if you use egg yolks. You must use egg whites.
A Greaves
This recipe is totally wrong, you need to use egg whites in the cooking process to clarify the soup.
